Project implementation on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programmes in three of the 15 Counties in Liberia

In collaboration with the Liberian Government through the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Health Focus GmbH recently completed a project implementation on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) programmes in three of the 15 Counties in Liberia. The project was implemented in Maryland, Grand Kru and River Gee Counties in southeast Liberia. On Friday September 30, 2022, the Team Lead for the project, Dr Abraham Alabi, presented the findings and lessons learnt to the African and Global scientific communities during a one-hour Zoom presentation titled “Establishing an antimicrobial stewardship programme in 3 County hospitals in southeast Liberia: Challenges, Opportunities, and Lesson Learned”. This presentation under the auspices of the African Society for Laboratory Medicine, ASLM (www.aslm.org) AMR Community of Practice (AMR-CoP) had more than 300 participants.
