Planning workshop for support to regional response to HIV and AIDS in Central America, Mexico and the Dominican Republic concluded in Antigua Guatemala

On 1st and 2nd September 2011, the Health Focus team in Central America met with the Regional Coordination Mechanism (MCR) against HIV and AIDS for Central America, Mexico and the Dominican Republic in Antigua Guatemala in order to plan activities. The GIZ programme, which is executed by Health Focus in collaboration with COMO, supports the MCR in the implementation of its strategic plan 2010 to 2015. The MCR, founded in 2004 to present a regional funding proposal to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, has since been assigned the task to advise the Council of Health Ministers of Central America (COMISCA) in all matters concerning HIV and AIDS and to execute regional tasks in that area as decided by COMISCA.
