New year, new projects!

The new year is just over one month old, but the Health Focus team is already busy implementing a number of new projects that it was awarded in the last months of 2021.

The newest of them all is a capacity building program for hospital staff in selected institutions in Duhok governorate in Iraq. This has close links to the training programs delivered in Duhok in 2016 and in Mosul in 2021. This time, in addition to health management training, training in Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS) will also be provided.

In West Africa, we are supporting the GIZ team with operational planning and the development of key Capacity Works tools for the Regional Pandemic Preparedness Project (RPPP2) in the ECOWAS region. We’ve also started implementation of our eighth project in Liberia since 2017. This time we will be working with Partners in Health and Samaritan’s Purse to help strengthen integrated disease surveillance and response, with a particular focus on counties in the south-east of the country.
