Manager Training Programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)

Health Focus participates in the special initiative for displaced managers from Ukraine, which is part of the Manager Training Programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Health Focus is the host company for a Ukrainian manager during the job-shadowing phase of the programme.

On October 25, 2023, BMWK and GIZ organized an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the launch of Manager Training Program, which is now called “Partnering in Business with Germany” and aimed to build international cooperation and respond to current global challenges such as climate protection, energy transition and disrupted supply chains. As a successful instrument of the Federal Government's foreign trade policy, the manager training program makes an important contribution to sustainably strengthening economic relations between Germany and the partner countries.

This year Ukraine special initiative has been piloted as an important contribution in the context of the reconstruction of Ukraine and support of critical economic sectors during the devastating war. Twenty members of the programme passed a multi-stage selection for participation. They have significant experience in critical sectors of the economy and expertise in IT and digital start-ups, communications, financial management, engineering, architecture, strategic research, supply chain management, sales, and strategic management.

For each of the programme participants, this is not only a professional, but also a personal story and motivation to bring impact and contribute to the recovery and the prosperity of their country. The programme opens new opportunities for cross-country cooperation to address the challenges posed by the devastation of war and global economic change.

A team from Ukraine was able to meet and chat with Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister Harbeck in an informal setting. They also held a dialogue with representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and, as bridge managers, outlined a strategy for further interaction.
