Kick-off Workshop- Improving Health Care Provision in Tanzania (IHC2): Capacity Development for EMONC, Newborn Health, and Family Planning.

Health Focus-evaplan consortium organised a workshop from the 6th to the 7th March 2024 at Executive Lodge Hotel, Korogwe, Tanga. The workshop's objectives included introducing the project and its implementing partners, fostering communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, and validating the project's work plan.

To ensure better understanding of the plan of action, work packages were presented and thoroughly discussed. The workshop gathered representation from Tanzanian government at the regional level, GIZ, Health Focus-evaplan consortium and other implementing partners such as CCBRT, Femina Hip, and Tree of Hope. It was recommended to continue fostering impactful coordination, communication, and knowledge sharing among partners for better outcome of the project.

Project Overview:

Health Focus and evaplan GmbH have been commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to support the implementation of the second phase of the Tanzanian-German Improving Health Care Provision (IHC2) programme in Tanzania. This assignment is scheduled to run until the beginning of 2026. Its implementation is in cooperation with Tanzania’s Ministry of Health and the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG). The project aimed at improving performance of selected health facilities in the management of selected obstetrics and neonatal complications as well as improving access to youth friendly family planning services for young people in Tanga region.
