Health policy & public health planning course at Charité

From the 15th to the 21st of November 2017 Dr. Alois Dörlemann and Adele Vosper delivered the Health Policy & Public Health Planning course to students enrolled in the Master of International Health (MScIH) at the Charité (Humboldt University) in Berlin. Health Focus has been involved in teaching components of this Master’s program for over ten years.

In addition to lectures and the exchange of first-hand experience from the field, group work formed a central component of this course. Students were divided into four groups and tasked with developing project proposals to address current health issues in low and middle-income countries. This provided students with practical experience in directly applying the project planning tools (e.g. problem analysis; development of objectives, expected results and activities; and log-frame) that they were being introduced to in the lectures. Given the short-time frame, the coherent and realistic proposals presented by the students at the end of the course were most impressive!

Given her background in public health and urban management, Adele Vosper also delivered an introductory seminar on the topic of Urban Health.
