Increasing the Demand in Family Planning and Sexual and Reproductive Health-Care Services in Cameroon

GIZ Health Programme to Fight Maternal Mortality in Cameroon: Increasing the Demand in Family Planning and Sexual and Reproductive Health Care Services.

The GIZ multi-component programme aims at improving access and quality of sexual and reproductive health care services in Cameroon within the project regions Adamaoua, Extreme North, West and South-West.  Health Focus has been awarded to assist technical programme efforts by strengthening demand and uptake of family planning services through improving behaviour change communication and information campaigns. Apart from increasing public knowledge about modern methods of family planning, public communication efforts will focus on improving the target population’s readiness, willingness and acceptance to make use of such.

Amongst other duties, Health Focus will engage in a systematic analysis of past approaches to behavior change communication and facilitate the reorientation of the public communication strategy on family planning. Furthermore, Health Focus will support the design and roll-out of a monitoring and evaluation system to assess effectivity of such campaigns in close cooperation national and local authorities.
